It does not run a LaTeX engine, so anything that needs compilation — equations rendered with MathJax/KaTeX, \includegraphics figures, citations from a .bib file, package macros, custom document classes — appears as raw LaTeX source in the output. If you need a real typeset PDF, use TeX Live, MiKTeX, Overleaf, or VS Code's LaTeX Workshop.
